While it may be seventh on the list of models designed for the MINI Cooper brand family, the new 2013 MINI Cooper Paceman claims the title of the world’s first Sports Activity Coupé in the premium small and compact vehicle segment.
The MINI Paceman's feisty go-kart driving style is mirrored in the sporty design found both in body style and interior.
Each of the following three Paceman model types come with slightly different options and available upgrades:

Style That Speaks Volumes Without Saying a Word
At first look, the MINI Cooper Paceman packs a punch with a powerful body design flaunting standout horizontal lines and sexy curved surfaces. A more aggressive version of the Countryman, the Paceman is a two-door sport coupe.
On the exterior you’ll find a sloping roofline and rear window, elongated doors, flared wheel arches, hexagonal radiator grille with broad chrome surround, and new designs unique to only the Paceman – a horizontally designed rear light and lowered suspension.
Step inside the vehicle and experience the new MINI “lounge concept” devised using two separate chairs with built-in armrests filling out the rear of the car and standard sport seats for the driver and front passenger. New decorative surrounds for air vents, speakers and central control panel add a splash of contrast to the Paceman’s interior.
The hatch area provides 11.65 cubic feet of cargo space, easily increasable to 38 cubic feet by folding the rear seats down.

Power and Handling Fit for Professional Drivers

Proving the Paceman is meant for the open road, the Cooper S model can go from zero to 62mph in just 7.5 seconds.

Even standard model Paceman have been fitted with MINIMALISM technology which includes brake energy regeneration, electric power steering, need-based operation of ancillary components, and a gear shift indicator that works in unison with the manual gearbox. Optional is a sport button that alters engine response and steering settings.

Knowing that all great rides have a solid foundation, MINI equipped the Paceman chassis with a MacPherson spring strut front axle and forged cross members together with a multi-link rear axle to create the ultimate in responsive handling.
Two of the three Paceman tout MINI’s ALL4 system to distribute drive seamlessly between the front and rear axles through electromagnetic center differential technology.
Pricing for the 2013 MINI Cooper Paceman
Currently the MINI Cooper Paceman is available only in the United Kingdom beginning March 16th, but will soon be making its stateside debut. Based models will start at $30,775.
